Hospital Admission

Anaesthetists

Your comfort and safety are our priorities. Please contact your anaesthetist before surgery to discuss medications or concerns. On the day, you'll meet them again, and they'll explain your anaesthetic and answer any questions.

Our anaesthetists are highly experienced specialists. While general anaesthesia is generally very safe, common, and usually minor, side effects can include drug reactions, temporary post-operative nausea, and very rarely, potential dental damage during intubation. In extremely rare instances, cardiac reactions can occur. Rest assured, our skilled hospital team is fully trained to manage any potential complications that may arise.

Accurate information on your health questionnaire is essential. We also request that you consent to resuscitation and blood transfusion, or discuss your advance care directive with your surgeon, anaesthetist, and hospital staff. We are committed to supporting you throughout the entire process.
